Senior Police Officer
Sérgio Felgueiras is an accomplished Portuguese senior police officer, distinguished researcher, and esteemed professor specializing in police sciences, security management, and crowd sciences. His career commenced in 1994 within the Polícia de Segurança Pública, where he was a police station commander. In 2005, he transitioned into a more active role, focusing on training and educational activities at the Higher Institute of Police Sciences and Internal Security (HIPSIS) in Portugal. He holds the esteemed position of Learning Director at HIPSIS and oversees various master’s programs, including the CEPOL master program on Policing in Europe (2015-2019).
Sérgio is actively engaged in research and has been, since 2009, participating in numerous EU-funded programs such as EU-SEC II, The House, GODIAC, IMPRODOVA, and APPRAISE. His research interests span diverse topics, including safety, security, policing, social movements, organized crime, and cyber security.
