Philippe Jougleux

Philippe Jougleux is Associate Professor and Deputy Dean at the Law School of European University Cyprus. After successfully completion (senior) of a master in Media Law in France, he received a merit scholarship in order to pursue doctoral studies, while working at the University Aix-Marseille III as assistant teaching and research staff. He obtained his PhD in 2002 on the topic of “the protection of information in the new technologies” and moved in Greece for personal reasons. He learned the Greek language and then passed the exams of the Thessaloniki bar office. In 2010, he moved to Cyprus where he started to work at the European University Cyprus, teaching Cypriot civil law, EU copyright law and EU internet law. Meanwhile, he wrote numerous articles in Greek and English, mainly on topics related to new technologies (online copyright law, data protection, cybercrime). He published seven books, coedited some others, and co-organized various international conferences. He is member of the list of academic experts of the European Parliament and regularly participates to EU research programs. He is chief editor of the Journal “ENTHA”.
